About Contents Lab

We believe content deserves a real workspace — not a blank page.

Contents Lab is a calendar-anchored, AI-augmented, mobile-native workspace for the full content lifecycle: plan, research, write, publish, measure. We built it because the tools we used every day treated content as a one-off document instead of a body of work.

Our story

From a long flight to a public beta.

  1. 2024 — Q4

The idea, on a long flight

Two writers and an engineer spent fourteen hours on a plane talking about why every content tool they used felt like a different shape of the same problem. By landing, the first Contents Lab outline was on paper.

  2. 2025 — Q1

    First private beta

Ten teams. One Project each. A calendar, an editor, a Source Library, and one AI agent. We watched what they did — and rebuilt half the editor before opening to more testers.

  3. 2025 — Q2

    Mobile-native rewrite

The desktop-first prototype was usable but ugly on a phone. We rebuilt the entire app shell mobile-first — the bottom tab bar, the slide-in drawer, the calendar that fits in 375px.

  4. 2025 — Q3

    Public beta on Cloudflare

Open sign-ups, four publishing channels, three AI agents, and a wallet. The platform you are reading about right now.

The team

A small team that uses Contents Lab every day.

We ship from inside the platform. If a feature is awkward for us, it is awkward for you.

  • Ridwanullah A.

    Founder, design + product

Twenty years of writing software. Believes the calendar is the spine of every serious content practice.

  • Maryam O.

    Engineering

Backend and infra. Keeps the Lightbase queries honest and the Cloudflare builds fast.

  • Bilal I.

    AI + research

Designs the agent scopes and the embeddings pipeline. Has read more papers this month than you all year.

  • Aisha T.

    Writing + content

The first external writer to use Contents Lab. Joined to make sure the editor stays out of the way.

  • Yusuf K.

    Mobile + UX

Wrote the mobile tab bar three times until it felt right. Now writes the docs that explain it.

  • Khadijah L.

    Community + support

Talks to users every day. The roadmap is half hers.

What we believe

Four principles we ship against.

  • Calendar first

Every Project opens to a calendar. The calendar is the spine of the work, not a side channel. If a feature does not fit on the calendar, we have not built it right.

  • Sources, not screenshots

If you cannot cite it, you cannot use it. The Source Library is the long-term memory of every Project, not a list of forgotten bookmarks.

  • AI as a teammate

AI does real, scoped work — outlines, source selection, channel variants — and we show the work. Chatbot answers are not enough for serious content.

  • Mobile-native, not mobile-shrunk

We design for the 375px viewport first. If it does not feel like an app on a phone, we are not done yet.
